Our main research topic is the study of the molecu- lar mechanisms involved in the link between inflam- mation and insulin resistance. Specifically, we are interested in:
• Evaluating the molecular mechanisms by which PPAR agonists prevent inflammation and insulin resistance.
• Studying the molecular mechanisms responsible for metabolic alterations in diabetic cardiomyo- pathy.
• Studying how oleic acid prevents saturated fatty acid-induced insulin resistance.
• Assessing the links between insulin resistance and Alzheimer’s disease.
