• título de la patente: SOCS1-Derived peptide for use in chronic complications relating to diabetes. Esta patente ha sido registrada con el grupo del CIBERDEM del Profesor Rafael Simó. En noviembre del 2016, esta patente ha sido extendida a los 35 países con mayor mercado farmacéutico. Recientemente hemos conseguido una ayuda FIPSE para la Financiación de Estudios de Viabilidad de las Innovaciones en Salud. 2016
• Ensayo clínico financiado por el 7th Program y cuyo título es: Early prevention of diabetes complications in people with hyperglycaemia in Europe (ePREDICE). nuestro grupo participa en la parte clínica, incluyendo pacientes, y el responsable del WP4 sobre biomarcadores. Este es el primer gran estudio en el cual se pretende examinar si la intervención farmacológica, además de los cambios de vida, previene la evolución de prediabetes a diabetes. Además, el biobanco de este proyecto europeo está localizado en nuestra Institución.
